Occupational Therapist School Setting in Belvidere, IL

This position seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide part-time support in an elementary school setting located in Belvidere, IL. The role offers 22.5 hours per week with a contract extending through May 28, 2026, focusing on students in resource and self-contained classrooms.

Key responsibilities include ensuring student participation in classroom activities by addressing fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, and self-care skills. The therapist will modify tasks and environments to support individual needs, conduct diagnostic and evaluation testing, and deliver clear, comprehensive reports based on assessments and observations. Collaborating with parents and educational staff to discuss student progress and to develop and maintain Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives or accommodations is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be qualified to hold a valid Illinois state OT or COTA license
