The position begins ASAP with a contract duration for the current school year (CSY), offering a 37.5-hour workweek. Consideration may be given to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) who meet qualifications.
Key responsibilities include ensuring students can actively participate in classroom activities by addressing fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, and self-care skills. You will modify tasks or environments to support each students unique needs, perform diagnostic and evaluation testing, and deliver clear, comprehensive reports based on assessments. Additionally, you will develop and maintain IEP objectives and accommodations, and collaborate with parents and multidisciplinary team members to discuss developmental progress and areas requiring support.
Qualifications for this role require possession or eligibility for an Illinois state OT license. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential, along with flexibility and problem-solving capabilities.
