Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Monroe, North Carolina

A Med/Surg/Telemetry RN role is available for a highly skilled registered nurse with at least 2 years of med/surg or telemetry experience. This contract position starts in early February 2026 and runs through early May 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients with diagnoses such as stroke, respiratory illnesses (flu, pneumonia, COVID), renal failure, wound care, and peritoneal dialysis
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and managing non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone)
• Managing drains, tubes, PIV starts, and central lines
• Collaborating with CNAs for patient ADLs, mobility, and feeding assistance
• Utilizing telemetry monitoring technology and virtual nursing resources for patient care
• Performing phlebotomy and working alongside RT, hospitalist, and intensivist teams for 24/7 patient coverage
  
  

Qualifications And Experience

• Current RN license with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of med/surg or telemetry nursing experience, though first-time travelers are welcome
• Proficient in Epic EMR system, IV pump usage, medication dispensing systems, and patient monitoring equipment
• Skilled in basic med/telemetry nursing procedures and technology utilization
• Ability to float within the regional hospitals when needed (travel time compensated)
  
  

Shift And Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• Approximately 5 shifts per week (5.25 as indicated)
