Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years ICU RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide expert critical care nursing within a well-supported ICU environment focused on adult patients with diverse medical conditions such as sepsis, strokes, respiratory and kidney failure, and more. This contract opportunity offers a dynamic setting with a 14-bed unit averaging full census, perfect for registered nurses with a minimum of two years ICU experience ready to deliver high-quality care using advanced clinical skills and EPIC EMR.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex medical ICU patients including vented individuals, trach care, chest tubes, critical drip and central line maintenance
- Interpret cardiac rhythms; perform PIV starts, NG tube insertion/maintenance, and wound care including wound vacs and drains
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including intensivists, anesthesiology, respiratory therapy, PICC team, and hospitalists available 24/7
- Utilize advanced technology such as EPIC EMR, Alariso IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Phillips monitors
- Participate in orientation, follow a structured 6-week schedule with weekend rotations, and contribute as part of rapid response/code teams and floating support within ICU/PCU as needed
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Licensed RN with at least 2 years of ICU nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Certifications required
- Comfort managing vented patients, critical drips, chest tubes, central lines, and complex cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Prior EPIC EMR experience preferred
- First-time travelers welcome with permanent residence at least 50 miles away from the unit
Schedule & Location Highlights:
- Shifts include 0645-1915 and 1845-0715 with a 6-week rotating schedule, including approximately six weekends and 50% holiday coverage
