Long Term Care Pharmacist in Charge - Salem, VA

A leadership role is available for a Pharmacist In Charge at a brand-new long-term care pharmacy location in Virginia. This direct hire position offers an opportunity to oversee pharmacy operations at a start-up site, supporting high standards of quality and compliance while leading a dynamic team of pharmacists and technicians.

Responsibilities Include

• Ensuring strict adherence to pharmacy procedures, SOPs, and all state and federal regulations
• Overseeing quality assurance programs and implementing policies and procedures
• Reviewing physician prescriptions for appropriateness and legality
• Managing the supply, storage, and labeling of medications to ensure safety and prevent expiration
• Preparing medications with accurate dosages tailored to individual patients
• Leading and motivating the pharmacy team to meet productivity and operational goals
• Maintaining a visible, hands-on presence on the pharmacy floor, participating in staffing as needed
  
  

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist in Virginia with license in hand (essential for immediate start)
• Minimum of 5 years experience in long-term care pharmacy, preferably with leadership responsibilities
• Strong operational knowledge, especially in start-up or growth settings
• Excellent communication and team-building skills with a customer-oriented approach
• Proficient in MS Office and pharmacy management systems such as Frameworks/DocuTrack
• Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmacology
