This role focuses on supporting operations in the Input Department of a Long-Term Care pharmacy, ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations. The role offers flexibility with work-from-home options, as well as on-site or hybrid arrangements for local candidates.
Location: Wisconsin Dells, WI (Remote with equipment provided; on-site or hybrid options available)
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Type: Full-time | 13-week contract to hire
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter new medication orders and updates to patient profiles from the queue
- Identify controlled substance requests and process them following established protocols
- Troubleshoot insurance rejections and coordinate with the billing department as needed
- Prioritize and triage routes and orders appropriately
- Contact facilities to obtain missing information or advise when medications cannot be dispensed
- Answer phone calls promptly, within the first three rings
- Notify the pharmacist of medication orders that cannot be dispensed and communicate updates to facilities under pharmacist guidance
- Strictly adhere to the Absolute Check Policy; bypassing pharmacist checks may result in termination
- Communicate effectively with Back Counter staff regarding order changes or updates
- Deliver timely and professional customer service
- Participate in all required business-related meetings and training sessions
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Strong working knowledge of Framework software is essential
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician License (CPhT) preferred
- Previous pharmacy technician experience required
- High typing speed with a strong focus on accuracy and detail
- Excellent organizational and clerical skills, including proficiency with filing and office equipment
- Ability to manage workload independently and adapt to changing situations
- Quiet workspace and reliable high-speed internet required for remote work
