Emergency Room Registered Nurse in Canastota, NY

Provide emergency nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Department, managing diverse cases from newborns to geriatric patients. This contract position offers a day shift schedule from 8:30 am to 9:00 pm, with flexible block scheduling. Candidates will be expected to float as needed and potentially take on charge nurse responsibilities.

Responsibilities Include

• Delivering direct patient care to a variety of emergency cases including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure
• Operating specialized equipment such as rapid infusors and Arctic Sun devices
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care across 64 beds, including trauma, acute care, super track, CDU, and psychiatric units
• Documenting patient information accurately in the EPIC EMR system
• Floating between units as required to meet patient care demands
• Assuming charge nurse duties when preferred
  
  

Qualifications And Desired Experience

• Current, active NY RN license with all RN licenses verified on NURSYS
• Minimum of 2 years emergency department experience, including some pediatric exposure
• Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
• Experience with charge nurse responsibilities highly preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system
• Two recent references from ED Charge or Manager RN leaders
• Up-to-date resume and documentation of any travel assignments
• Valid drivers license reflecting current demographics
