CVOR Nurse - Olathe, KS

An opportunity is available for a registered nurse with specialized experience in cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) nursing. This contract position is ideal for a skilled RN who excels in fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environments. The role demands strong scrub and circulating experience in cardiac surgeries, with familiarity working in a Level 1 trauma center setting.

Location

Situated in the Kansas City metro area, this position is based in Olathe, KS, with work performed at a nearby major medical center known for its advanced cardiac services and comprehensive surgical programs.

Schedule / Hours

• 10-hour day shifts, Monday through Thursday
• 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Approximately 40 hours per week
• Must be willing to take on-call responsibilities during holidays and participate in weekend rotations as required (about one weekend per month)
  
  

Qualifications / Desired Experience

• Current Kansas RN license
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience, specifically within a Level 1 trauma center
• Strong recent scrub and circulating experience in cardiac surgeries
• BLS certification required
• Ability to float to Bell OR, Cambridge OR, and SPD as needed
• Nicotine-free facility compliance
  
  

Responsibilities / Duties

• Provide perioperative nursing care in the cardiovascular OR, assisting surgeons and supporting patient safety during cardiac procedures
• Manage sterile field and surgical instruments with precision
• Collaborate with surgical team members to optimize outcomes and maintain high standards of patient care
• Participate in on-call rotations, holiday coverage, and weekend shifts as scheduled
