An opportunity is available for an experienced registered nurse with pediatric cardiovascular intensive care expertise to provide specialized care in a high-acuity clinical setting. This contract role focuses on delivering critical and post-operative care to infants and children with complex congenital heart conditions, including those requiring advanced life support technologies.
Responsibilities include managing patients post-open-heart surgery, supporting pre- and post-transplant care, and caring for those with ventricular assist devices, ECMO, and renal replacement therapies like Aquadex. You will work mainly 12-hour night shifts in a 20-bed unit designed for optimal patient care and centralized nursing coordination. The role requires floating flexibility among PICU, NICU, and general pediatrics to adapt to unit needs.

Key Qualifications And Experience
- Minimum 2 years pediatric cardiac ICU nursing experience in a similar high-acuity environment
- Current BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
- Proven competency in managing complex cardiac patients, including post-op and transplant cases
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system
- Familiarity with advanced devices such as Impella, ECMO, and Aquadex
- Ability to float to PICU and other pediatric units as needed
Additional Role Information
- 12-hour night shifts (1900-0700)
- Weekend commitment averaging 3-4 weekends every six weeks
- Holiday work requirements on alternating holidays
