Overview
Summary: The Purchasing, Shipping Logistics and Spare Parts Manager provides the company sound purchasing and cost management analysis and reporting. In support of these purchasing functions, the Manager will assist with inbound and outbound shipping logistic support for raw materials and finished products. The Manager will also prepare spare parts quotes and will accept approved purchase orders from the company’s current clients. The Manager will add value to the company through the use of relevant standards, policies and procedure with the highest ethical standards.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with project management and engineering personnel to obtain all details related to purchasing requirements.
2. Negotiate, establish and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure competitiveness.
3. Purchase orders will go out with reference to specifications, schedule and detailing standards.
4. Provide raw material and buyout costs and estimates to project management and sales personnel.
5. Manage purchasing and job cost information.
6. Capture and analyze historical purchasing and cost data.
7. Manage the proper receipt of raw materials and buyouts. Coordinate with accounts receivable for the proper entry of received materials.
8. Assist with other accounting and finance projects as needed.
9. Coordinate with vendors for the proper logistics, shipment and delivery of raw materials and buyouts to the company’s fabrication facility.
10. Coordinate with clients for the proper logistics, shipment and delivery of finished products to the client’s facility.
11. Assist clients with the ordering of spare parts by developing quotes, providing lead times and accepting purchase orders.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
1. 5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the fabrication and manufacturing industry.
2. 1-3 years of experience in accounting/finance.
3. Associates degree in accounting, finance or business preferred, but not required.
4. Computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Access.
5. Sage Accounting platform experience a plus.
6. Mechanical aptitude and experience a plus.
7. Clear, effective and respectful communication skills.
8. Well organized and self-motivated.
Job Type and Location: Full-time, in person, St Helens, Oregon.
Schedule: Flex hours.
Education: High School diploma (required), Associates Degree, or higher, preferred.
Experience: Purchasing, minimum 5 years (required).
Pay: $25.82 - $31.09 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
