Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to design, develop, and implement control systems for industrial applications, with a focus on chemical and plastics processes. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in PLC programming, HMI development, electrical design, and troubleshooting, along with a solid understanding of industry standards.
Responsibilities
• Design and develop control systems utilizing:
o Relay/Ladder logic and discrete PID controllers
o PLC/HMI interfaces and communication links
• Create and modify electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical
• Design junction boxes, wiring diagrams, local operator panels, and main power panels
• Ensure compliance with NEC/IEC standards and symbols
• Integrate hydraulics and pneumatics into control systems
• Troubleshoot and debug control systems during development and commissioning
• Develop project cost estimates, timelines, and provide Bills of Material for manufacturing
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support chemical or plastics process applications
• Provide occasional field service support (domestic and international)
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
• 5–7 years of experience in control system design and implementation
• Proficiency in:
o Relay/Ladder logic programming
o Discrete PID control
o PLC/HMI interface development
• Knowledge of NEC/IEC standards and electrical symbols
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics integration
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
• AutoCAD Electrical proficiency
• Ability to develop cost estimates and timelines
• Chemical or plastics process experience required; additional experience is a plus
• Allen-Bradley (Rockwell) experience preferred (Siemens or other platforms considered)
Salary : $105,000 - $115,000
