What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Receptionist position at SoHay Dental?
At SoHay Dental, we’re on a quest to make "going to the dentist" something people actually look forward to. We are looking for a receptionist who is part organized mastermind, part customer service pro, and 100% the heart of our practice. If you can juggle a ringing phone, a checking-in patient, and a complex insurance breakdown—all while keeping your cool—we want to talk to you.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients as they arrive at the dental office
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments using the dental office's phone system
- Verify patient insurance coverage and assist with billing and payment processing
- Maintain patient records and update necessary information
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and address any inquiries or concerns
Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in using phone systems and handling multiple phone lines
- Attention to detail and ability to accurately handle patient information
- Excellent organizational skills to manage appointment scheduling and administrative tasks
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with dental staff
- stronger leadership skills are preferred, as position can lead to a management role
Please note that experience working in a dental office or medical receptionist experience is preferred, but not required. Experience with Open Dental is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
