Software Advisor - Business Development Representative (BDR)


Hours

40 hours per week, flexible summer hours. 10 remote days per year.


Starting Pay

Typically $55,000 to $65,000 per year (salary base commissions).

The ideal candidate will be responsible for following up with leads submitted on our website. Follow-ups typically occur over the phone with key decision-makers, and you'll need to gather their project requirements.

  • Strong verbal and phone communication skills
  • Ideally, prior outbound phone experience or a Bachelor's degree

Software Connect has an immediate opening for a motivated individual, ideally with sales experience and a bachelor's degree. If you're a solid communicator and genuinely interested in technology, we want to talk with you.


Our Software Advisors are part consultant, part inside salesperson, and part journalist. You'll work with business software buyers to determine their organization's project requirements. Our software buyer types range from one-employee start-ups to multi-national conglomerates.


Expertise in business software is not required. However, you'll need to have strong verbal and written communication skills, and sales experience is preferred. We'll provide plenty of industry training, but you need to be a fast learner and genuinely interested in conversing about technology and software to succeed.


What you'll do:

  • Help software customers. You'll consult with business owners and managers to help them find software for their business.
  • Make lots of phone calls. There's no cold calling in this role, but most of the calls will be outbound. You need to be comfortable spending a decent amount of time on the phone. It's common to make 80 calls per day.
  • Document project requirements. You'll get paid more by making quality connections between buyers and sellers. The clearer your project's requirements, the better your connections will be.
