Soberalski Immigration Law is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the full-time position of Paralegal Assistant at our West Allis office.
Job Summary:
The Paralegal Assistant will assist the paralegal team and attorney(s) by providing legal and clerical support services, including application review, document preparation and requests for records, document translation, research, investigations, fact-checking, and other duties as assigned. Starting pay is $21 per hour/commensurate with experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
- Manages and prioritizes high-volume caseload along with paralegal team;
- May have some direct client interaction for initial meetings and follow up phone calls and emails;
- Assists in preparing birth certificate and marriage certificate translations;
- Manages calendaring and ensures all case deadlines are met in collaboration with the paralegal team;
- May interview clients and prepares summaries of their statements;
- Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files and related documents in office filing system and in electronic databases;
- Engages in professional and respectful communication with clients, co-workers, and others in context of paralegal assistant role;
- Performs other case-specific or client-centered duties as assigned.

- Ability to learn, manage and complete casework within immigration software;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.

- Respond to attorney requests;
- Attend other organization-related meetings (staff meetings, paralegal team meetings, etc.)
Education and Experience:
- Some related legal experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
