Position Summary
- Under the supervision of the Poker Supervisor, responsible for dealing an assigned poker game accurately and in a professional and proficient manner in accordance with the departments Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort Policies, and Gaming Regulations.
- Create an environment of hospitality and friendliness towards guests by greeting and providing information about the game to help them have an enjoyable experience.
- Remain attentive to players and alert Supervisor to any suspicious action.
- Promote a fun, energetic welcoming atmosphere to guests and fellow team members both on and off of assigned game.
- Conduct oneself per the established departmental and SECR policies and procedures.
- Ensure that gaming equipment is suitable for use on a live game and alert Supervisor if it is not.
- Conduct games and maintain the highest level of game protection per established SOP.
- Maintains knowledge and proficiency of all games and limits offered in the Poker Room, i.e. Limit, No-Limit and Pot-Limit Hold`em, Omaha and 7 Card Stud as well as Hi-Lo game variants.
- Ensure all bets on tables conform to the prescribed table limits, secure and pay all bets accordingly.
- Collect and drop accurate table rake per the established procedures.
- Ensure game is dealt per the established policies and procedures and at a sufficient, profitable pace.
- Maintain poker tray and bankroll on an impress basis at the dollar amount determined by management; ensure that poker tray and bankroll is secured before leaving the table.
- Pass on all pertinent information regarding the table to other dealers when being relieved.
- Sign all pit paperwork in a legible manner.
- Start, pause, move and end player ratings when dealing on games that possess a dealer workstation for the Player Rating System.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority. Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

- Contact with guests at the casino and resort to provide exceptional guest service both on and off their assigned tables.
- Contact with the Poker Supervisor assigned to supervise their section as to work related needs/issues.
- Contact with Poker Manager to inform them of issues and to receive updates regarding changes to policies and procedures.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to obtain certification from the SECR Table Games Department for each game associate deals.
- Must become certified to deal the games of Blackjack and Pitch Blackjack on or before the 1st anniversary of becoming a Poker Dealer.
- Applicants that do not possess these certifications but have prior casino dealing experience may earn their certification by successfully passing the written and table testing requirements for the required games.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.
- Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
- Knowledge of principles and practicing of customer service skills in order to deal with the public in a courteous and professional manner .
- Knowledge of and skill in dealing of all offered poker games.
- Skills in mathematics to include the ability to calculate figures, amounts, discounts, commissions, ratios, odds and percentages.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with guests.
- Ability to control the pace of the game.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and MICs.

- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment and contact with the general public. Constant visual stimulation via lights on slot machines, repeatedly changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs throughout the casino and constant machine and crowd noise.
- May encounter and deal with intoxicated and/or belligerent guests.
- Ability to work all shifts.
- Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
