Job Description: 5th Grade Teacher Position Summary The 5th Grade Teacher at SOAR Charter Academy creates a positive, engaging, and academically rigorous learning environment that reflects SOAR’s commitment to student achievement, leadership development, and whole-child growth. This educator provides high-quality instruction aligned to California State Standards, fosters student leadership through the Leader in Me framework, and works collaboratively with staff, families, and the community to ensure all students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Instruction & Classroom Environment • Plan and deliver standards-aligned lessons in all core subject areas, including ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. • Integrate leadership, collaboration, and organizational skills using the Leader in Me / 7 Habits framework. • Provide differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English Learners, students with disabilities, and advanced learners. • Implement effective classroom management strategies that promote respect, responsibility, and a safe learning environment. • Utilize technology to enhance instruction and support student learning. Assessment & Data • Assess student progress through formative and summative measures • Analyze data to guide instruction, set learning goals, and provide timely interventions and enrichment. • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavior. Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities • Participate in grade-level, staff, and PLC meetings; contribute to the development of curriculum, instructional strategies, and school initiatives. • Communicate regularly and effectively with families through ParentSquare and other school-approved platforms. • Collaborate with support staff, including Special Education, ELD, and other School teams, to meet individual student needs. • Attend school events, family nights, professional dev
