Job Summary
The After School Program (ASP) Aide supports the operation of the school's after school program by providing a safe, positive, and engaging environment for students. Under the direction of the After School Program Coordinator or Site Administrator, the ASP Aide supervises students, assists with homework, facilitates recreational and enrichment activities, promotes positive behavior, and helps ensure the health and safety of all participants. The ASP Aide serves as a positive role model while fostering a welcoming atmosphere that supports students' academic, social, and emotional development. Essential Functions may include: Supervise students during indoor and outdoor activities. Assist students with homework and academic enrichment. Lead or assist with games, crafts, STEM activities, sports, and other enrichment opportunities. Encourage positive behavior and reinforce school expectations. Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times. Monitor attendance and assist with student sign-in/sign-out procedures. Communicate professionally with students, parents, and staff. Set up, organize, and clean activity areas and materials. Assist with snack distribution following program guidelines. Respond appropriately to minor injuries, behavioral concerns, and emergencies. Maintain confidentiality regarding student information. Perform other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to work effectively with elementary and/or middle school-aged children. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to supervise groups of students while maintaining a positive environment. Basic knowledge of child development and behavior management techniques. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Dependable, organized, and flexible. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
