What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forge Line Tech position at Snider Blake?
Forge Line Tech $19 - These roles train on 1st for 2 weeks
The positions are press operator, trim operator and floor person. The press operator takes the steel and puts it into the press to be formed. The press heats to 2000 degrees and they use a foot pedal to apply pressure for shape. The part then goes to the trim operator for additional steps and removal of trim pieces and the floor person ensures the area remains clean, the billets are picked up and they don’t run out of billets so the press can continue to run. Associates need good hand-eye coordination as they will be using tongs to pick up each part and move to next steps.
Essential Duties -
- Operate forge press as part of 3 to 4-person team
- Clean, organize and maintain work area(s)
- Use work instructions and set-up sheets
- Set-up and operate forge press and trim press
- Set-up and operate required support equipment and processes
- Visually inspect parts produced
- Use hand tools and digital calipers
- Process necessary documentation
- Operate lift truck
- On-the-job training provided
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
