Corporate Controller | Fort Worth | Founder-Led Transportation Platform

I’m partnering confidentially with a privately held, founder and family-owned transportation and logistics company based in Fort Worth seeking a Corporate Controller.

This business generates ~$200M in annual revenue and operates with a true owner-operator mindset. There is no private equity pressure and no public market noise. Leadership is practical, decisions are grounded, and the company is known for strong operational execution and financial discipline.

This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the CFO, with full ownership of the accounting function for a growing, asset-intensive platform.

The Opportunity

The Controller will lead accounting operations and build scalable, GAAP-compliant processes aligned with continued growth.

Accounting Leadership & Controls

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and team performance

• Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls

• Oversee subsidiary accounting and transaction-level controls

• Manage outsourced accounting and third-party relationships

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting

• Develop KPIs and enhance financial visibility across the business

• Analyze budget vs. actuals and communicate insights to leadership

• Support cost analysis and operational decision-making

Cash, Risk & Compliance

• Lead cash management and liquidity oversight

• Monitor debt and ensure compliance with lender covenants

• Support capital investment decisions and pricing strategy

• Coordinate the annual audit and serve as primary auditor liaison

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements

Ideal Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• 8 years of progressive accounting experience

• Strong GAAP and financial reporting foundation

• Experience owning close, reporting, and audit processes

• Background in asset-intensive or operational environments preferred

• Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience is a plus

• Exposure to transportation, logistics, energy services, or similar industries is beneficial

Compensation

$175K–$185K base very strong bonus upside
