Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of HVAC systems across commercial and residential properties. Responsibilities
- Install new HVAC equipment including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and ventilation systems following schematics and design specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on HVAC systems to ensure efficient operation and compliance with safety standards.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues using tools such as ohmmeters, gauges, and diagnostic software; identify faulty components like compressors, fans, thermostats, or electrical wiring.
- Repair or replace defective parts on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) equipment including refrigeration units and ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems such as drainage, piping connections, and water supply lines.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to accurately diagnose problems and plan repairs.
- Operate field service vehicles safely as a
driver while maintaining compliance with transportation regulations. - Utilize welding skills for fabrication or repair of ductwork or metal components when necessary.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems to ensure continuous operation and safety standards are met.
- Document all service activities thoroughly through reports and logs for future reference and compliance purposes.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation solutions.
- Proven experience as a service technician with strong mechanical aptitude in troubleshooting complex HVAC/R issues.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and apply HVAC design principles effectively during installations or repairs.
- Familiarity with plumbing practices related to HVAC systems; experience with ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and gauges for refrigerant pressure checks.
- Skilled in equipment repair including compressors, motors, fans, thermostats, valves, and electrical components.
- Experience with welding techniques for ductwork fabrication or metal repairs; knowledge of boiler maintenance is advantageous.
- Strong field service background with excellent problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Mechanical knowledge spanning appliance repair, property maintenance, and general building systems management.
- Valid driver’s license suitable for operating company vehicles safely; familiarity with
