Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, mechanical knowledge, and field service experience. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC equipment across various property types, ensuring optimal operation and compliance with safety standards. Candidates with experience in refrigeration, plumbing, appliance repair, and boiler systems are highly preferred. A valid driver’s license is required to facilitate travel between job sites. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects utilizing schematics, HVAC design principles, and equipment repair techniques.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and ventilation equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately perform installations and repairs.
- Perform maintenance tasks such as cleaning coils, replacing filters, calibrating thermostats, and inspecting mechanical components.
- Conduct plumbing and refrigeration repairs as needed for HVAC systems involving ammonia refrigeration or other refrigerants.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment to diagnose electrical issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes.
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate effectively with clients regarding system status and recommendations.
- Assist in property maintenance tasks related to HVAC/R systems to ensure continuous operation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HVAC service technician or in related fields such as construction, appliance repair, or property maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics and HVAC design plans.
- Experience working with refrigeration systems, ammonia refrigeration preferred.
- Knowledge of plumbing, boiler systems, welding techniques, and equipment repair is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with HVAC/R industry standards and safety protocols.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools including ohmmeters and other electrical testing devices.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is mandatory for field service assignments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on efficient troubleshooting and repair solutions.
- Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining professionalism and safety awareness. Pay: $15.00 - $24.00 per hour
