Position Title: Body Shop Production Manager

Department: Body Shop

Reports To: Body Shop Manager

Position Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Hours: Monday- Friday during business hours of 7:30am-6:00pm (Monday-Thursday) 7:30am -5:00pm (Friday) and 8:00am-12:00pm (Saturday as scheduled) (with some variation based on business needs)


Job Summary:


The Body Shop Production Manager is responsible for facilitating efficient work flow in the Body Shop area. This position is required to perform a variety of duties ranging from checking in vehicles and moving vehicles in the shop area, detailing vehicles, cleaning, parts running to light body work. This position is crucial to the shop organization and workflow. The Body Shop Production Manager must be a highly motivated individual with a strong desire to succeed and demonstrate a high level of organizational skills.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Assists Body Shop Estimators with all aspects of the vehicle check-in and delivery process

Assist with estimated and customers concerns as needed

Understand and maintain all insurance companies’ parameters of repair and policies

Blueprint vehicles with technicians to assure complete supplements

Assign labor to technicians

Schedule any sublet work that maybe needed (clear film, calibrations, service repairs, etc.)

Assists Body Shop technicians with various aspects of vehicle repairs and reconditioning which could include tasks such as tear downs, installing parts and mirrors

Assists with ensuring shop workflow is organized and efficient

Moves vehicles from Body Shop work area to various locations on company property

Check in all parts into CCC1 and label where they are stored in parts area

Bring parts from parts area to Body Shop area for each technician. Ensures the proper parts are pulled and distributed to the correct technician including making sure that all painted parts get to the paint shop

Cleans and details vehicles before they are returned to the customer and ensures all vehicles returned to customers are properly cleaned

Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area and contributes to keeping the department clean and orderly. This includes sweeping, mopping, taking out trash and cardboard, removing parts and removing broken parts

Assists with final inspections before customer are contacted

Participates and successfully completes required training

Complies with Company policies and procedures and observes all Federal, State, and Local safety rules and regulations

Communicates with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:


Education/Experience

Highschool diploma/ GED required

1-3 years of Auto Body experience

Prefer degree from accredited Auto Body school

Valid drivers’ license

Must be able to operate forklift

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to multitask and manage various projects

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

General knowledge of auto body repair


Physical Demands and Work Environment:


This position is generally a light work position which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force. It may require medium work at times, which is exerting up to 50 pounds of force. Physical activities include balancing, stopping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing pulling, and lifting. The worker will be subject to inside and outside environmental factorings including weather, noise, dust, debris and fumes.
