SMX is seeking a Linguistic Support Program (LSP) Contractor Support Element (CSE) aircrewperson to deploy regularly and provide translation services during airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations. The ISR flights are in direct support of Joint Interagency Task Force – South (JIATF-S) objectives with operations located throughout the U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR).
This position requires a DoD Secret clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.

$114,000—$190,000 USD

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Deploy routinely to USSOUTHCOM PN locations as directed to support LSP operations onboard various US DoD and Interagency aircraft
- Assist in coordination with SMX, USSOUTHCOM J3/J8, and Partner Nation (PN) stakeholders to provide in-flight translation services to Host Nation Riders (HNR) aboard US DoD and Interagency aircraft
- Assist in coordination with USSOUTHCOM J3/J8 on LSP’s schedule to ensure sufficient manning availability to support multiple USSOUTHCOM and Interagency aviation programs
- Conduct assessments and draft reports on LSP capabilities and limitations for SMX/USG stakeholders, as required
- Required Clearance: Secret
- Must have or be willing to obtain a FAA Third Class medical exam prior to starting
- Fluency in both Spanish and English (spoken and written)
- Strong ability to accurately translate documents, conversations, and presentations between both languages (Spanish and English)
- 5 years of military, aviation, or law enforcement experience
- Familiarity with the current USG Host Nation Rider Program
- Familiarity with Military/Contractor Operations
- Multi-tasker with the ability to work with little or no guidance
- Ability to travel up to 75% and meet all USSOUTHCOM AOR travel requirements
- 3 years of recent experience in the USSOUTHCOM AOR
- Background in Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) operations
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree plus 4 years additional experience or High School degree plus 8 years additional experience
