SMX Services & Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager / Technical Lead to lead delivery for the Defender Services Management Information System (DSMIS) program supporting the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. This role serves as a key leader across operations and maintenance, Agile enhancements, release planning, stakeholder coordination, and technical execution. The successful candidate will manage delivery cadence, guide the technical team, coordinate risk and issue resolution, and ensure performance aligns with mission needs in a highly sensitive data environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead overall delivery of DSMIS support services, enhancements, and transition-related activities.
- Serve as the primary point of coordination for schedule, scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and release readiness.
- Manage Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog coordination, and delivery reporting.
- Coordinate technical execution across development, testing, support, and infrastructure functions.
- Ensure protection of sensitive defender program data and adherence to applicable security and ethics requirements.
- Oversee incident response coordination, production support prioritization, and status communications.
- Support governance meetings, monthly reporting, and client-facing program reviews.
- Maintain execution discipline across documentation, baselines, approvals, and operational controls.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience consistent with contract requirements.
- Demonstrated experience leading application support and enhancement efforts in a structured delivery environment.
- Experience managing Agile delivery teams, schedules, priorities, risks, and stakeholder communications.
- Experience coordinating technical workstreams across development, testing, and production support.
- Ability to operate effectively in regulated or sensitive data environments.

Preferred certifications include one or more of the following:

- Experience with production support, escalation handling, and release governance
- Ability to work with government stakeholders in a structured contract environment
- Experience supporting judiciary, justice, legal, or other sensitive public-sector systems
- Familiarity with Java-based enterprise applications and web-hosted environments
- Experience with data-driven business applications, reporting support, or system modernization efforts
- Prior experience supporting transition-in or decommission/migration workstreams
