The Opportunity
The Die Shop Assistant supports die shop operations by preparing, organizing, tracking, and maintaining customer cutting tools and related materials. This role assists with die production, tooling assembly, inventory management, and shipping activities while ensuring accurate records and efficient workflow throughout the department. The position plays a key role in supporting production quality and maintaining organization within the die shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the production and maintenance of rule and rubber dies.
- Assemble blanking tooling for production requirements.
- Package and prepare tooling for shipment to other facilities.
- Plot dies, die vinyls, and spotting sheets.
- Maintain and organize die numbering systems to ensure proper tracking of customer cutting tools.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to die shop activities.
- Organize and manage tooling inventory and storage areas.
- Support general die shop operations and housekeeping activities.
- Follow established procedures and instructions to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
What You Need to Succeed
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn department software and tracking systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Previous die shop, manufacturing, or tooling experience preferred.
- Reliable attendance and dependability.
