As an IT Procurement Analyst, you will support the purchasing, analysis, and management of IT hardware, software, and services for Smithfield Foods. You’ll play a key role in centralizing procurement processes, tracking IT assets, and ensuring compliance with contracts, budgets, and vendor agreements. In this role, you’ll analyze spend data, participate in project meetings, and assist in vendor negotiations to help drive cost savings and procurement efficiency. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, suppliers, and the Senior Manager of IT Contracts and Vendor Management to ensure optimal sourcing decisions and ongoing supplier performance. Procurement Execution & Support: Manage sourcing activities including creating purchase orders, maintaining procurement documents, and placing hardware and software orders for IT projects. Vendor Negotiation & Collaboration: Assist in negotiating vendor pricing, terms, and discounts while working collaboratively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve services and value. Supplier Evaluation & Selection: Evaluate vendor performance, conduct supplier analysis, support sourcing decisions, and provide recommendations based on cost, quality, and delivery. Contract Management & Compliance: Oversee contract upkeep and renewals, implement processes to ensure contract adoption, and support compliance across departments. Process Improvement & Cost Analysis: Analyze procurement data and business processes to identify cost-saving opportunities and increase operational efficiency. Professional Development & Knowledge Sharing: Stay current on IT procurement best practices, tools, and technologies, and contribute to team development through ongoing learning and knowledge sharing. Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required. Interpersonal & Collaboration Skills: Strong team player with the ability to build effective relationships across functions and levels. Analytical & Data Skills: Proficient in organizing and analyzing data with foundational knowledge of financial principles like Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Time Management & Execution: Skilled in multitasking, prioritizing assignments, and following through on deliverables in a fast-paced environment. Communication & Organization: Detail-oriented with excellent written/verbal communication, sound judgment, and strong organizational skills. Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office tools with the ability to use or learn systems such as SAP and Power BI for reporting. Contract & Procurement Knowledge: Foundational understanding of contract language and procurement best practices.
