Smith Brothers Tool has designed and manufactured precision aerospace and defense tooling since1981. Our customers include Boeing, Bell Helicopter, GE Aviation, and Honda Aircraft Company. We build assembly tools, lay-up tools, large and small checking tools, mill fixtures, and more for the most demanding programs in the industry.

Our Jig & Fixture Builders are at the heart of what we do. You'll build the precision tooling that aerospace manufacturers rely on to assemble aircraft components to exacting standards. What You'll Do

• Execute builds per customer prints, specifications, and quality requirements
• Calculate unspecified dimensions and lay out designs across a variety of materials
• Establish and coordinate reference points and tooling holes using straightedges and precision

• Lead a team fitting and assembling tooling components for aerospace customers
• Perform repairs and rework on existing tools as needed
• Prepare fabrication sketches as required
• Operate machine tools including lathes, Bridgeport mills, and grinders as needed
  
  

What You Bring

• 5 years of experience in precision jig/fixture building — required
• Aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred; candidates from automotive, defense,or medical device manufacturing with equivalent precision standards are welcome to apply
• Strong blueprint reading skills including GD&T and 3D CAD model interpretation
• Proficiency with precision measurement and hand metrology tools
• Experience with manual machining (mills, lathes, grinders)
• Solid math and communication skills
• Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality standards — preferred
• CATIA V5 / Enovia experience — a plus, not required. Experience with any 3D CAD platform is

• High school diploma or GED required
