Responsibilities
- Support the dentist during pediatric dental procedures
- Help create a positive, comfortable experience for children and their families
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments
- Take dental X-rays (as permitted by state regulations)
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene
- Assist with charting and maintaining accurate patient records
- Meet all state-specific dental assistant credentialing requirements for the duties assigned in the state of employment (e.g. RDA, CDA, EFDA, state registration, or equivalent as required by the state)
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
- Knowledge of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and OSHA/HIPAA standards
- Strong communication and commitment to excellent patient care
