Essential Job Functions
- Generate company revenue from sales calls of new and existing customers by marketing and understanding the shipper and supply chain market place from both an operational and technology perspective.
- Responsible for generating new business from prospective accounts and meeting sales goals and targets.
- Must establish, grow and maintain business relationships with large and medium size shipper accounts.
- Responsible for generating new sales from beginning to end, cold calling and strong entrepreneurial work ethic.
- Prepare pricing, license agreements, and contracts in response to customer RFQ’s and develop business opportunities.
- Engage resources and guidance from operations and VP of Sales in order to deliver the best customer solution.
- Must be able to forecast sales activity and reach revenue achievement while satisfying the needs of SMC 3 customers.
- Educate customers about the value and benefits derived from SMC 3 new and existing products.
- Directly manage and provide direction to the Sales Support staff, ensuring they are performing the functions of their job.
- Travel – 40% required.
- This position is eligible for remote work; however, it necessitates frequent travel for business purposes.
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in logistics/transportation/business) with 10 year’s direct experience in related role. Advanced degree a plus.
- Knowledge of the LTL transportation industry, supply chain and the technology and software packages used to support it.
- LTL Pricing experience a plus
- Knowledge of shipper markets and the technology and software packages used to support it.
- Ability to maintain a high level of productivity, manages multiple competing priorities, and work effectively under the pressure of time constraints in a fast-paced, complex collaborative and team-oriented environment.
- Understand at a high level the overall technology concepts used in today’ business environment. Java, SOA, Web Services, etc.
