TITLE: Welder
LOCATION: Seattle, WA
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm
PAY: $25 - $30

ABOUT THE JOB
Our client is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join their body shop team. This position will focus on fabricating custom steel flatbeds and truck body components, including measuring, cutting, fitting, and MIG welding steel. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of welding experience, strong metal fabrication skills, and the ability to produce quality work with attention to detail.
JOB DUTIES
- Fabricate custom steel flatbeds and related truck/body components
- Perform MIG welding on steel
- Measure, mark, cut, and fit steel materials
- Read and interpret basic drawings, measurements, and fabrication plans.
- Use grinders, saws, drills, torches, welders, and other metal fabrication equipment safely
- Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and removing rust, paint, or debris
- Assemble and tack-weld components before completing final welds
- Inspect finished welds and fabricated components for quality, accuracy, and proper fit
- Make adjustments and repairs to fabricated components as needed
- Work with hand tools and power tools
- Assist with mounting and installing flatbeds and other fabricated components onto vehicles
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all shop safety procedures and properly use required PPE
- Work efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
- Communicate with other technicians and shop staff regarding project requirements and timelines
- Perform additional body shop and fabrication duties as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 3 years welding and/or metal fabrication experience
- Experience welding steel required or strongly preferred
- Experience with MIG welding is a plus
- Experience fabricating truck beds, flatbeds, trailers, or automotive components is helpful
- Ability to accurately measure and work from specifications
- Comfortable using grinders, saws, drills, welders, and other fabrication equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious
- Ability to troubleshoot fabrication and fitment issues
- Welding certifications are a plus but not required
- Positive attitude
