We are seeking a mid-level Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance Business Analyst) to join our team in Morristown, NJ. In this hybrid role, you will bridge the gap between our business operations and IT teams to design, configure, and implement core insurance systems. You will leverage your strong background in Policy Administration and Claims processing to gather requirements, map workflows, and ensure delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Requirement Gathering & Analysis

• Lead elicitation sessions with underwriters, claims adjusters, and product owners to capture business requirements.
• Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications, user stories, use cases, and workflow diagrams.
• Manage product backlogs and participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and backlog grooming.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Specifications (FRSs), and data mapping matrices.
• Standardize system documentation by mapping complex data flows, system integrations, and business rule registries to ensure clear traceability from source to target.

P&C Insurance

• Provide deep domain expertise across the P&C insurance lifecycle, specifically focusing on Policy (quoting, rating, issuance, endorsements) and Claims (intake, adjudication, reserving, payments).
• Analyze existing systems and business processes to identify gaps and propose optimized future-state workflows.

Testing & Implementation Support

• Collaborate with QA teams to review test strategies, define test cases, and ensure comprehensive coverage of business rules.
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and assist business stakeholders through the validation process.
• Support training initiatives by creating documentation, user guides, and conducting walk-throughs for end-users.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst within the P&C Insurance industry.
• Proven hands-on experience with commercial or personal lines Policy Administration Systems (PAS) and Claims Management Systems (e.g., Guidewire PolicyCenter/ClaimCenter, Duck Creek, Majesco, or proprietary platforms).

Technical & Functional Skills

• Strong understanding of core P&C concepts such as rating engines, forms triggers, policy lifecycles, and claims financial structures.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and project management tools like Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with data mapping, system integrations (APIs), and SQL queries for data verification is highly preferred.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Insurance, or a related field.
• Insurance certifications (e.g., CPCU, AIC, AINS) or Business Analysis certifications (e.g., CCBA, CBAP) are a major plus.
