Sales & Marketing Associate
Overview
We are seeking a data-driven Sales & Marketing Associate to support revenue growth through actionable insights across sales, marketing, and product development. This role combines analytics, field observations, and cross-functional collaboration to inform strategy and improve performance across retail channels. This role provides exposure to both marketing and sales strategy and has a direct impact on retail growth and product innovation. This person should back a background in data, specifically SPINS or Neilson, data analysis, be a self-starter and pro-active, and be someone willing to grow in their career.
Travel time to retailers for shelf/field research and trade shows is necessary.
Reports to: Director of Marketing & Product Development
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze customer, sales, and competitive data to identify trends and growth opportunities
- Evaluate marketing campaigns, promotions, and sales initiatives performance with KPIs and ROI
- Develop and present clear, insight-driven reports to the Marketing Committee
- Partner with sales and marketing teams to refine targeting, positioning, and forecasts
- Generate customer insights by analyzing demographics, preferences, and purchasing behavior
- Conduct regular in-store visits to assess shelf placement, product availability, and merchandising execution
- Capture and analyze shelf images, planograms, and in-store observations across retailers
- Monitor competitor activity, assortment, pricing, and visual positioning
- Support product development with data-backed market insights
- Manage sample requests and marketing material needs under Dir. of Marketing & Product Development; maintain organized tracking logs
- Translate data into clear recommendations and strategic next steps
- Under Marketing Committee's direction, work with in-house and freelance graphic designers to ensure all visual goals are met for sales and marketing materials.
Qualifications
- Candidates must possess either a bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Data Analytics or, at minimum, an associate degree combined with relevant experience.
- Experience with syndicated data (e.g., SPINS and/or Nielsen), Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
- Self-starter, strong initiative, and highly motivated
- Retail or CPG experience is a plus
