Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Shift: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with every other weekend

Job Overview

We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join a newly opening long-term care pharmacy in Roanoke, Virginia. The ideal candidate will ensure safe and accurate medication dispensing, review prescriptions for clinical appropriateness, and collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to provide quality pharmaceutical services to long-term care and assisted living residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Review medication orders for accuracy, appropriate dosage, potential drug interactions, and proper administration.
• Ensure medications are accurately dispensed, prepared, and labeled.
• Recommend medication or therapy changes to physicians and facility staff when necessary.
• Maintain patient medication profiles, medical histories, and relevant clinical and laboratory data.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related questions and concerns.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Supervise medication preparation and ensure compliance with pharmacy standards.
• Maintain controlled substance records and ensure proper medication security and inventory control.
• Perform on-call duties as required.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist license in the State of Virginia.
• Long-term care pharmacy experience preferred.
• Previous hospital, retail pharmacy, or related healthcare experience.
• Strong clinical judgment, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency with computers and pharmacy systems.
• Familiarity with Framework or ECM software is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive pay of $60–$64 per hour, based on experience.

• $5,000 after one year of continuous employment.
