Job Description
Position Summary:
Partners in Home Care Inc. is seeking an experienced Hospice Clinical Manager for a 13-week contract assignment in Missoula, Montana. The Clinical Manager is responsible for oversight of hospice patient care services, staff coordination, operational support, and clinical leadership to ensure exceptional patient care delivery.
This leadership role serves as a key communication link between clinical field staff, support staff, referral sources, intake teams, billing departments, and agency leadership while working closely with the Director of Clinical Services and Hospice Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership & Staff Oversight
- Provide direct oversight of hospice patient care services and clinical operations
- Serve as alternate nursing service line leadership as needed
- Provide orientation, training, mentoring, and support for newly hired and existing clinical staff
- Support case management planning and patient care coordination
- Monitor staff performance and complete formal evaluations for clinical team members
- Identify performance gaps and implement coaching, corrective action plans, and disciplinary actions when necessary
Operational & Administrative Responsibilities
- Analyze utilization and productivity data and provide reporting to agency leadership
- Facilitate patient and employee scheduling to ensure timely initiation of care
- Collaborate with Intake and Billing departments to resolve onboarding and claims processing issues
- Review patient care incident reports and initiate corrective actions within required timelines
- Coordinate and conduct staff meetings, documentation, and follow-up communication
- Review supply utilization and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely patient care support
Financial & Resource Management
- Assist with monitoring adherence to financial budgets and productivity goals
- Identify operational variances and support problem-solving initiatives
- Monitor staffing ratios and allocate resources to ensure efficient service delivery
- Review and approve employee timesheets and leave requests
Quality & Patient Care
- Promote safe patient care and employee safety practices
- Respond to customer complaints within 24 hours
- Support clinical staff with crisis management and problem-solving
- Participate in community and industry events representing the hospice program
- Oversee hospice operations and patient care delivery in the absence of the Hospice Director
- Participate in Clinical Manager on-call rotation
Requirements:
- Active and unencumbered Montana or Compact RN License required
- Registered Nurse (RN) required | BSN preferred
- Minimum 3 years of Hospice care experience required
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online systems/platforms
