Your Day-to-day Might Include
- Ensure that all activities are carried out safely
- Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
- Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed)
- Adjust production equipment such as clearing jams, product changeovers, etc.
- Clean up and blow down machinery; assist setting up equipment for production runs
- Inspect and troubleshoot the operation of the machines with precision and measuring tools
- Fix and/or report mechanical issues that might occur during the shift
- Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
- Ensure daily throughput is in line with target
- Perform quality checks on packaging to ensure all produced products meet quality standards
- Follow SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) for production equipment
- Keep work area organized, clean and safe
- Help to identify opportunities for improvement (safety, quality, productivity)
- Utilize Forklift to feed raw material to fully & semi-automated machines
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Experience operating machinery is recommended
- Forklift / Pallet Jack experience preferred but not required
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Attention to detail and proactive attitude
- Adherence to health and safety regulations
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, squat for long periods of time
- Ability to lift heavy material, up to 50 lbs
- High School Diploma or GED
