The CNC Lathe Machinist programs, sets up, and operates multi-axis CNC lathes to produce high-precision components for aerospace, semiconductor, and advanced manufacturing industries.
We're looking for someone who
● Has 5 years of CNC lathe machining experience
● Has strong experience setting up and programming with Fanuc and Okuma controls
● Is able to independently set up multi-axis CNC lathes from engineering drawings with minimal supervision
● Can read and interpret complex technical drawings and GD&T
● Has experience with tight tolerance machining (aerospace preferred)
● Is proficient using inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
● Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
● Is familiar with ERP systems such as Shopkeeper or Epicor (preferred)
● Has experience working in an AS9100 or ISO 9001 environment (preferred)
● Has experience machining materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, Inconel, and titanium (preferred)
● Is comfortable working in low-to-medium volume production environments (preferred)
● Meets U.S. Person requirements in accordance with ITAR regulations
What you'll do
● Independently set up and program CNC lathe machines, including multi-axis equipment
● Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements
● Perform first article inspections and in-process checks
● Optimize tooling, feeds, and speeds for efficiency and quality
● Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions
● Maintain accurate documentation including job travelers and inspection records
● Ensure compliance with quality standards and shop procedures
● Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on process improvements
● Participate in process time estimation exercises
● Support CNC mills and other shop operations as needed
● Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
