Subrogation Claims Manager

What You Will Be Doing

• Provide leadership and oversight of the company’s subrogation program, establishing direction for recovery strategy, operational effectiveness, and alignment with company claims objectives.
• Foster a work environment that promotes ethical decision-making and professional conduct consistent with company policies, regulatory requirements, and Slide’s core values.
• Ensure adherence to claims handling standards, authority guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures related to recovery activities.
• Evaluate and guide the identification and pursuit of recovery opportunities, including defective product claims, contractor negligence, third-party liability, and catastrophe-related losses.
• Manage team operations and workflow distribution to support timely and effective recovery efforts.
• Conduct Open and Closed File Reviews to evaluate file quality, documentation, and compliance with operational and regulatory expectations.
• Utilize reporting and analytics to monitor recovery performance, identify trends, and support operational improvements.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development to team members through training, mentorship, and structured Progress & Growth conversations.
• Manage relationships with external partners including attorneys, recovery vendors, experts, and collection agencies to support effective recovery outcomes.

What You Have

Education, Experience, and Licensing:

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of a High School diploma and relevant professional experience required.
• Minimum 2 years of people leadership experience.
• At least 5 years of Property & Casualty claims experience within the Homeowners insurance industry.
• Minimum 3 years of subrogation experience within Property & Casualty claims.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working directly for an insurance carrier.
• Working knowledge of Florida insurance statutes, claims handling regulations, and good faith requirements.
• Experience coordinating with legal counsel regarding subrogation-related litigation or recovery actions
• Active Florida 6-20 Resident All Lines Adjuster License required.
• Industry designations (AIC, CPCU, SCLA or similar) preferred..
  
  

Qualifications/Skills And Competencies

• Strong understanding of property claims practices, subrogation principles, and recovery processes within the homeowner’s insurance industry.
• Knowledge of insurance-related legal procedures, regulatory frameworks, and claims handling requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, develop talent, and support professional growth through coaching and structured development discussions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data to drive operational improvements.
• Effective negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal teams, policyholders, vendors, and legal partners.
• Strong organizational and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies, and departmental guidelines in daily claim operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications including Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Xactimate familiarity preferred.
