Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and replenishing supplies to ensure comfort and hygiene standards are met.
- Handle various cleaning tasks using appropriate equipment such as vacuums, mops, and cleaning cloths while adhering to safety protocols.
- Manage chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to ensure a safe environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Perform floor care activities including sweeping, mopping, and polishing to maintain a spotless appearance in all areas.
- Assist with public area cleanliness by cleaning lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and other shared spaces with attention to sanitation standards.
- Follow hotel emergency procedures during incidents or safety concerns to ensure guest and staff safety at all times.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or janitorial roles with a strong understanding of cleaning procedures and equipment use.
- Knowledge of floor cleaning techniques including industrial cleaning methods and floor care products.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely by understanding chemical handling protocols and using appropriate protective gear.
- Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting, bending, reaching, and prolonged standing or walking.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards guests and team members.
- Familiarity with hotel housekeeping management systems is a plus but not required.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of sanitation, safety data sheet (SDS) compliance, and hotel emergency procedures.
