Slane Co. is partnering with a well-established leader in the material handling and lift equipment industry to identify a Regional Operations Director who will provide strategic and operational leadership across parts, service, and product support throughout the Virginia region. Richmond, VA. is preferred; Chesapeake or Roanoke are also considered.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced material handling or equipment professional who understands the business from both an operational and financial perspective. This leader will shape long-term product support strategy while driving profitable execution across multiple branch locations, strengthening customer relationships, developing teams, and positioning the business for continued growth.
What You’ll Lead
• Develop and drive the long-term strategy for lift equipment parts, service, and product support across the region
• Lead multi-branch parts and service operations with accountability for profitability, operational performance, and customer experience
• Own annual operating budgets and drive revenue, gross margin, and operating income performance across parts and service
• Establish and monitor key operational metrics, including technician utilization and productivity, parts availability, inventory turns, service response times, warranty recovery, and safety performance
• Develop long-term technician capacity and capability plans to support continued business growth
• Partner with sales, marketing, and senior leadership on market positioning, pricing, new service offerings, and broader growth initiatives
• Maintain and strengthen key customer relationships while identifying opportunities to expand service utilization and support equipment sales
• Monitor customer, market, and competitive activity to identify opportunities and inform regional strategy
• Lead, coach, and develop product support leaders and their teams while building bench strength and succession for key positions
• Foster a culture centered around safety, accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement
• Contribute to broader organizational strategy, including growth, expansion, and potential acquisition opportunities
What We’re Looking For
• 10 years of experience within material handling, lift equipment, heavy equipment, or a closely related industry, with meaningful parts and service operational experience
• 5 years of demonstrated management or leadership experience
• Strong understanding of the financial, operational, and customer-facing components of a parts and service organization
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically while remaining closely connected to regional and branch-level execution
• Experience leading multi-location or regional operations is highly advantageous
• Strong financial and business acumen with experience owning budgets, profitability, margins, and operational performance
• Proven ability to lead and develop managers, technicians, and product support teams
• Strong understanding of technician productivity, service operations, parts availability, inventory management, and customer support
• Ability to translate operational and financial data into clear priorities and action
• Strong customer relationship, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related discipline preferred
• Ability to travel throughout the region as needed
