Manufacturing Automation Engineer

A growing, privately held industrial manufacturer is seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join our team and help drive automation excellence across multiple manufacturing processes. This role provides the opportunity to work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to design, implement, and optimize automated solutions, while also supporting team coordination and client interactions. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain automated systems to support manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and process engineering teams to identify automation opportunities and improve operational efficiency.
• Develop and document automated processes, work instructions, and best practices for consistent execution.
• Troubleshoot, program, and optimize PLC-controlled systems, robotic platforms, and other automated equipment.
• Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams, including inspection and technician staff.
• Interface with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and support new product launches.

Desired Skills And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, or related Engineering discipline.
• 5 years of experience in automation engineering, robotics, or industrial control systems.
• Strong experience with PLC programming, robotics, and integration of automated equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and process optimization skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical team members.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians in a dynamic environment.
