Mental Health Practitioner – IRTS Program

About the Role:
Skyline MHS is currently seeking a Mental Health Practitioner to join our Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) program located in Rogers, MN. This is an opportunity to be part of a dedicated team focused on providing high-quality, person-centered mental health services to adults in a supportive, structured residential setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver professional, compassionate mental health services to clients within the IRTS facility.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide rehabilitative care and skill-building services designed to promote independence and improve quality of life.
- Educate clients in areas that support recovery and mental wellness.
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, reports, and clinical charting.
- Facilitate or co-facilitate psychoeducational and skills-building groups.
- After passing required training, administer medications under nurse supervision.
- Assist therapists in the development and implementation of treatment plans.
- Support new admissions by facilitating orientation to the program.
- Teach independent living skills such as budgeting, self-care, housekeeping, and communication.
- Identify residents at risk of behavioral crises and collaborate on targeted interventions.
- De-escalate behavioral emergencies with professionalism and therapeutic skill.
Qualifications:
- Must meet qualifications for a Mental Health Practitioner under MN DHS guidelines (e.g., relevant education and/or experience in behavioral health).
✅ Option 1:
- Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health or related field
- PLUS 2,000 hours of supervised experience providing mental health or substance use services
✅ Option 2:
- No degree required
- BUT must have 4,000 hours of supervised experience providing mental health or substance use services
OR
· Completion of 30 semester credits or 45 quarter credits in behavioral science or a related field plus
o Proof of a practicum or internship requiring direct client interaction focused on behavioral sciences or related fields
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
