Summary:
The Business Development Manager will drive net new growth with prospects through volume-based outreach for key trade shows. This role is essential for Skyline to achieve expected growth, and the BDM will work closely with marketing on prospecting strategies, lead generation, lead conversion and overall pipeline build and management. The BDM will land new logos by selling Skyline’s portable and custom modular solutions, expanding these programs over time.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Reaching out to potential customers using a mix of phone calls, emails, LinkedIn, and in-person networking.
- Learning about prospects’ trade show needs and marketing goals to see if we’re a good fit.
- Leading sales meetings by setting an agenda, preparing materials, selling Skyline’s products & services and ensuring proper follow-up
- Collaborating with other team members across sales, marketing, and production to support the sales process.
- Using sales tools (like CRM and email platforms) to organize outreach and track conversations.
- Sharing helpful content from marketing with prospects to build interest and trust.
- Achieving revenue goals by helping turn prospects into long-term clients.
- Staying in touch with new clients after their first project to explore additional ways we can help.
- Keeping your pipeline organized and communicating clearly about where opportunities stand.
- Penetrate net new logos won for a period of 12 months in a “land and expand” focus. (additional divisions, activations, revenue opportunities)
- Exhibit strong forecasting, pricing strategy and closing skills.
- Represent Skyline across industries with a high-level of knowledge and integrity.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in sales with a focus on acquiring new business.
- Trade show experience is a plus, but not required
- Become a student in learning the ins and outs of B2B sales within the trade show industry
- Ability to gain an understanding of key markets, customers and competitors in order to target needs and drive sales.
- Experience utilizing CRM and prospecting / outreach tools (or comfortable learning them)
- Experience managing a pipeline, converting leads and maintaining high win rates.
- Comfortable with conducting a high volume of outreach, including cold calls
- Self-driven and comfortable with daily self-direction
- Ability to be flexible, creative and highly collaborative.
- Clear communication with clients and internal stakeholders
- Minimal travel is required (1-2 trade shows per quarter)
Salary Information:
$60,000 uncapped commission *base compensation may vary based on location
