Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Treatment Coordinator to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Coordinate patient appointments, treatment plans, and follow-up care to ensure smooth clinic operations
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance authorizations using systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
- Review and process medical documentation, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD-9/10 diagnosis codes, and billing information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist patients with intake procedures, including collecting medical history and explaining treatment options clearly and empathetically
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks or Dentrix to ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping
- Communicate effectively with patients via phone and in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Collaborate with clinical staff to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to each patient’s needs
- Support medical billing processes by reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness before submission
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical collection processes, medical coding (ICD-9/10, CPT), and billing procedures
- Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix
- Experience with health information management and medical office management software such as Eaglesoft or Hospital Information Systems
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient privacy and confidentiality
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to review documentation thoroughly and accurately
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Previous clinic or dental office experience is preferred to understand clinical workflows and patient care protocols
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and multi-line phone system operation
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and typing proficiency (including 10-key typing)
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes for Medicare or other insurance providers is a plus
