About the Opportunity:
We're partnering with a well-established aerospace & defense electronics manufacturer seeking a Director of Quality to provide executive leadership across enterprise quality operations. This is a high-impact role responsible for developing quality strategy, driving operational excellence, and ensuring compliance across complex aerospace manufacturing environments.
The ideal candidate is a proven quality leader with experience building high-performing teams, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and partnering with executive leadership to support the next phase of organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead enterprise Quality strategy across multiple manufacturing operations.
- Direct all Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supplier Quality, and Quality Systems functions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, operational performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain and enhance AS9100 Quality Management Systems while ensuring compliance with aerospace and defense industry standards.
- Lead customer audits, certification audits, regulatory inspections, and third-party assessments.
- Develop supplier quality strategies including supplier development, corrective actions, and risk mitigation.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Program Management during new product introductions and production readiness.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing Quality organization.
- Develop executive-level quality metrics, KPIs, and reporting to drive business performance.
- Support quality integration initiatives associated with company growth and future acquisitions.
- Serve as the primary Quality representative with customers, regulatory agencies, and executive leadership.
Preferred Background:
- Aerospace, Defense, Space, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
- Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), PCB Assembly (PCBA), Avionics, or Complex Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing
- Experience supporting major aerospace or defense OEM customers
- Strong background leading enterprise Quality organizations and cross-functional teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 10 years of progressive Quality leadership within aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
- Director-level leadership experience or equivalent scope of responsibility
- Extensive knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management Systems and aerospace quality requirements
- Experience with NADCAP, supplier quality, customer audits, and regulatory compliance
- Working knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection, IPC standards, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies
- Proven ability to influence executive leadership and lead cross-functional initiatives
