POSITION OBJECTIVE

  • Perform general repairs in and around the Hotel and Marina as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, specific work areas will be assigned as needed to each employee, based on skill level and experience. Accurate recordkeeping on assigned tasks is required. Ensure that all safety systems are operable.
  • Inspect guestrooms, public space, and the back of the house for areas to repair, touch up or replace.
  • Repairs, or replace items such as light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint, furniture, wall coverings, caulking, grouting or other miscellaneous items.
  • Assists other department team members in the systematic application of the preventive maintenance program.
  • Makes records of repairs made, or areas needing further attention.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies needed to perform job function.
  • Familiarize yourself with local waters to provide basic guidance to Marina Guests
  • Monitoring and enforcing marina rules and regulations.
  • Assisting with boat launches and haul-outs
  • Overseeing the maintenance and repair of docks and equipment
  • Reporting any issues or concerns to the Dock Manager
  • Always demonstrates safe work habits, including the proper care and use of all tools, equipment, vehicles, hazardous materials, and observes all established health and safety regulations.
  • Respond to guest room calls as required.
  • Due to the nature of the business, the individual may be required to do other duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisor, such as waterproofing, shop clean up and labeling of hazardous materials.
  • Any other duties assigned from direct supervisor or General Manager.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma, or relevant experience preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of three years’ hands-on experience in one of the following disciplines: 1) Minor Electrical 2) Painting 3) Plumbing 4) A/C repairs. 5) Marina Operations
  • Be able to obtain a Certified Pool Operation license.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License to operate company equipment.

  • Frequently lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Regularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent exposure to the elements of the Florida heat and inclement weather.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must possess a high level of accuracy and neatness.
  • Must be able to work independently while working in a strong team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize work to accommodate deadlines with minimum supervision.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment, communicate with others, effectively deal with customers, and accept constructive criticism from supervisors.
    Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.

Salary : $16 - $18
