Mechanical Engineer (Temporary Contract)
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with approximately 3 years of professional experience to join our team on a temporary contract. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys solving practical engineering challenges and working closely with products as they move from design into manufacturing.
You will support a variety of engineering activities, including updating technical drawings, troubleshooting mechanical issues, refining existing designs, and assisting with the transfer of products into manufacturing. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves to solve problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Update and maintain engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify practical solutions.
- Support product improvements through hands-on testing and design refinement.
- Assist with transferring products from engineering into manufacturing.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are production-ready.
- Support prototype builds, design changes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Approximately 3 years of professional mechanical engineering experience.
- Experience creating and updating engineering drawings using CAD software (such as SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD).
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on environment with prototypes and production equipment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) or product transfer to manufacturing.
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Familiarity with mechanical assembly, prototyping, and root cause analysis.
