Skillforce is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician for preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and general service work at commercial facilities across the Richmond, Virginia area. This is a full-time, field-based opportunity with immediate availability for mid-level and senior service technicians. We are also open to experienced HVAC Installers with duct work and split system installation background — see details below.
Pay:
- Service Technician (Mid-Level): $25.00 to $30.00 per hour depending on experience
- Service Technician (Senior/Low Supervision): $30.00 to $40.00 per hour depending on experience
- HVAC Installer / Duct Installer: $25.00 per hour
- Overtime available and regularly worked
- Weekly pay
Schedule:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday
- Primarily daytime commercial hours
- Overtime opportunities are consistent and available
Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment across multiple customer sites
- Diagnose and troubleshoot commercial HVAC system failures and operational issues
- Change filters, inspect components, and complete service documentation on each site visit
- Operate efficiently with minimal supervision, managing your own daily route and priorities
- Maintain a company-provided take-home van and all associated tools and equipment in clean, working condition
- (Install path) Run duct work and support installation of split systems and related HVAC components on commercial job sites
- Communicate professionally with facility managers and on-site contacts at customer locations
Qualifications:
Required:
- Hands-on commercial HVAC service experience (residential-only experience does not qualify for the service path)
- Ability to perform PMs, filter changes, and diagnostics with limited supervision
- Clean driving record — company take-home van provided, MVR will be verified
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen (service path)
- EPA Section 608 certification preferred for service path; required for refrigerant handling per federal law
- For the install path: demonstrated experience running duct for split systems and HVAC construction installs
Preferred:
- EPA 608 Universal certification
- Experience with rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, or commercial air handlers
- Familiarity with building automation or commercial controls
- OSHA 10
