About the Role:
Skillforce is seeking Electrician - Journeymen for an upcoming project near the Madison County, VA area. This role requires experience with light fixtures, rough-ins, switch gears, and pipe rewiring. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years as a commercial electrician.
Compensation:
$32-35 per hour
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4 years of experience as a commercial electrician
- Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively in team environments.
- Ability to work in various climate conditions and lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated control systems.
- Certification in OSHA safety standards or equivalent safety training.
- Familiarity with energy-efficient electrical systems and renewable energy technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with advanced diagnostic tools.
- Previous experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to relevant codes and standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and specifications to determine the layout of electrical systems.
- Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers, to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients and supervisors to ensure project requirements are met.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.
