Apprentice HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic
Locations: Nashville & Memphis, TN
Pay: $24–$27/hour
Shift: 1st Shift | 40–50 hours per week

As an Apprentice HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic, you will assist with the fabrication and installation of commercial HVAC ductwork and sheet metal components while working alongside experienced mechanics to ensure quality installations and reliable HVAC system performance. HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic Responsibilities
- Lay out, fabricate, and install HVAC duct systems and sheet metal components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and layout plans.
- Cut, shape, join, and assemble sheet metal using hand and power tools while ensuring precise fabrication and alignment.
- Install commercial ductwork, including rectangular and spiral systems, along with hangers, supports, and accessories.
- Hang ductwork and install VAVs, RTUs, diffusers, registers, dampers, and flexible components.
- Seal duct systems and ensure proper alignment and quality standards.
- Accurately measure, cut, and assemble sheet metal materials.
- Follow OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic Qualifications
- 2 or more years of commercial sheet metal experience required.
- Experience with commercial HVAC ductwork installation and sheet metal fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Must have your own PPE and required hand tools.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
