What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Comptroller position at SKCO Automotive?
SKCO Automotive Group is looking for an experienced Automotive Controller. If you are a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Office Manager with a minimum of 3 years of automotive dealership accounting experience, we want to speak with you.
Our dealership is positioned for continued growth and we’re looking for the individual who will effectively work with other members of accounting team to support our goals,and participate in the overall success of our organization.
Primary Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Oversee the Central Accounting Office while partnering with dealership operations to ensure all financial controls and processes are established and followed, including controls on payables/receivables and expense analysis
- Ensure that all accounting schedules are reviewed and properly maintained on a monthly basis
- Ensure that all account reconciliations are completed on a monthly basis (including floor plan, bank, finance reserves, manufacturer's statements, accounts payable, etc.)
- Ensure all finance product sales documents are reported & paid on a timely basis each month (including vehicle service contracts, GAP, etc.)
- Manage and track the company’s cash flow to better assist in the management of assets and liabilities.
- Review the reconciliation of general leger accounts with outside sources to ensure bank reconciliations, reserve accounts and factory and floor plan payables are accurate.
- Prepare monthly financial statements according to dealership timeline.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Degree in the field of Finance or Accounting preferred.
- Experience as a controller in an automotive dealership preferred.
- Prior experience with a Dealership Management System (CDK, Reynolds and Reynolds, ADP etc) preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and business/finance acumen
- Ability to work with teams across all levels in the organization
- High level working knowledge of Excel, including VBA is required
